Security and Events Consultancy, Training and Development
Akona is a well-established and reputable consultancy with an excellent track record in the provision of training resources for the security and events industries.
Aligned to several stakeholder and UK governing bodies including the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and Sports Ground Safety Association (SGSA), Akona delivers training programmes to meet strict national and international criteria and qualifications, in its support of clients such as Manchester United Football Club, Chelsea FC and others.
Akona also works in close conjunction with clients to address and overcome ‘critical challenges’, including potential security threats associated with criminal and terrorist activity and crowd management, and with a wide range of social and welfare concerns.

Manchester United FC: Consultancy and Training services:
Akona’s most recent work required a review of Manchester United’s stewarding operation and its approach to Event Stewarding training. The success of this work led onto Akona providing Spectator Management Level 4 qualifications and to Crisis Management, Emergency Response and Level 3 Supervisor training courses.

Awarding Body 1st4Sport: Consultancy services:
Akona was commissioned to design and to develop learning resource materials and a e-learning programme covering crowd management and emergency aid. This piece of work was aimed towards event stewarding, security and crowd management disciplines. The booklet now issued to all learners that register for their Level 2 & 3 in Spectator Safety qualifications with the Awarding Body.

2006 - Present Day
Chelsea FC: Consultancy and Training services:
Since 2006 Akona has been working closely with Chelsea FC in the training and continuous professional development (CPD) of the Club’s Senior Management Team and Stewards. The range of courses delivered has included Spectator Management, Spectator Safety Levels 2 & 3, Close Protection, Citizen Aid, Emergency First Aid and Safeguarding. The most recent work has been to develop an E-learning platform, covering Spectator Safety modules.
